I was in an accident this morning....

So I'm driving down the street on my daily commute to work. (8 blocks) I ended up getting about 4 blocks away from home and this lady ended up trying to make a left turn from the right lane. This is on a One Way street and she didn't signal or anything. Then she told the cop that she was in the left turning lane and that it was my fault. Where do they get their licenses from???

Damage is minimal to my jeep....it won, but I'm still going to have to get a new brush guard, front fender, light, turn signal, header piece, bumper, etc... Total damage to my machine is $2000....I'm sure there was more on her shiny blue Volvo. I'll get pics later, but here's the wreck diagram I decided to draw while I'm bored at work.

It shouldn't matter if there were any witnesses. If the cop just takes a look at the damage to the cars, the only logical conclusion is that she is lying.

She tries to blame you when she's making a left turn? Doesn't matter how she puts it, the person making the left turn is always at fault, period. Only way I can see it's both of your fault is you speeding. That the fault would be 50/50, otherwise she's 100% at fault.

Wait a minute- how the heck would you have hit her if she was in the correct lane? Sounds like she pwned herself.

From the diagram, it showed very cleared that she's at fault, because you can never hit her driver's side unless she's on the left lane.

I guess it's depend which part of her car got hitted by you, but obviously, by the look of the diagram, she's at fault.

Just get a big ass bumper like me. You'll never have to worry about hitting people and getting damaged. Mine took out a deer going 70 and I came out of it without a stratch(from the deer atleast)

Stupid bitch. I don't know why people aren't getting CHARGED with deliberately, and obviously, lying about accidents. Based on your description it's impossible for the accident to go as you said it did - she should be charged for lying. Charged with being a hoe.

Thanks. I did have a witness that told the cop what was up. I don't know if she got a ticket, but she certainly needs one.

The front right corner of my jeep hit the left, front fender of her car...right above the wheel.... A nice little crease in the metal too. Like I said...I was proud of my jeep. Now I wanna get it fixed so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

how could she even tell a story like that?! from the looks of it she cut in front of you to turn left and you hit her drivers side door area.. right? how would that work if she was in the left lane, you in the right and the damage on the front right corner of your jeep and the left side of her car.

people like that need to be shot, the should not be allowed to walk the face of the earth. :|

I was doing 25-30mph. I was pulling up to her bumper when she started into her turn. I locked up my brakes and couldn't avoid hitting her....I had no where to go.

People lie because there is no penalty for lying, unless it's in court. I HATE stupid drivers and what makes it worse is they lie about the accident. My roommate got in an accident and the woman, at the scene, said it was her fault. She reported that it was my roommate's fault to the insurance company and they took her word for it. We need tougher laws.
