So I dropped my friend off after seeing Matrix 2, and some guy in a Trans-Am decided to pull out in front of me a few blocks from my home. The entire frontend of my car was smashed, and I thought I had no serious injuries. I was wearing my seatbelt so I didn't hit my head on the steering wheel or anything, but I have what feels like a HORRIBLE sinus headache. My entire head feels cloudy. My eyesight seems diminished as does my hearing.

I'm going to the doctor on Monday (accident happened early Friday morning), but I'm curious if anyone had similar symptoms with whiplash? The symptoms from this article seem to be inline with how I feel, but I want the ATOT doctor opinion :)

i had whiplash 2 summers ago when a Ford F-250 landed on my trunk after jumping a median, ripped off the back 1/3 of my car and tossed it about 50 feet down the street.

I felt fine at first but had BAAAD headaches the next few days, sore neck, tingling in my hands and feet, and a few other problems.... They all went away in about a week, but it sucked baaad.

Have you not been to the hospital yet? I would have had them check me out. I guess I answered my own question because I see you haven't. Well, if you can wait until monday then that is your prerogative, but I would get things checked out just in case. I am sorry to hear that happened to you. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks all for the well wishings!

It was his fault. He performed an "unsafe u-turn" as indicated by his ticket. His insurance company wants me to go to the doctor on Monday and meet with them after.

I didn't go to the hospital because at the time of the accident only my wrist and lower-back were hurting. I knew I was going to be sore, but thought I could just wait until I got to my doctor. I didn't start feeling like I do now until mid-Friday afternoon.

Were I you, I would go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital right now. You don't know what might be wrong with you. Waiting until Monday could only exacerbate your condition.

Your choice.

As would I. His insurance will have to cover it since it was his fault.

also, if you go to the hospital soon and they find a problem, it will be easier to get them to pay for the care you need than if you wait.

I am sorry about the accident.
My wife and I had an accident about 2 months ago, somebody hit us from behind.
At first, I felt fine and then the headache and backache started to bother me.
I didn't want to go to the emergency room, so I went to the urgent care,
Urgent care is like emergency room but with less patient and less waiting.
They are open 7 days a week usually around 7am till 11pm. and the wait was less
than 19 minutes for us.
We both got muscle relaxant and the doctor told us to take Aleve, tylenol, or advil.
Put some ice on your shoulder, it might help with the pain.
After 2 weeks, the pain went away.
So try urgent care if you don't want to go to the emergency room.
They have X-Ray over there too to check you up.

If and when you go meet with them:

Dont sign ANYTHING

Say as little as possible ( name, rank, serial number) Dont quote any numbers, speed, distance etc.

Dont give a statement, tell them you will fax them a written statement. It will give you a chance not to get questioned, but to write it all down and re-read and correct it to reflect the best possible situation you can put out there.

If there is any possiblility that you have, or will have medical bills, you need to have a clear and concise record of events, dates and times of everything. Save every receipt, write down if you feel pain or discomfort. Document every doctor visit, and everythig the doctor says.

Dont go for a quick settlement.
