so I was on my way to LAX airport, after exiting 110 South I merged onto 105 Westbound. At rush hour, there usually will be a traffic light governing traffic on the two merging lines. There's a sign that says "two cars per light."
So I was the second car at the light and I missed my turn to go, the car behind honked and hi-beamed me repeatedly. what the hell! you can still get to go on the next light anyways right? I look at the rear view mirror and spotted it was a bimmer E46 3-series. So as I went on the second light he zoomed to the left lane and back to my lane and passed me.
okay, what the hell, that was a waste of gas consider there's moderate traffic ahead.

but I was pissed; as he took me down to his level of intelligence --- I floored and try to catch up to him.
okay, so what's the most he got, 225 or so hp from a 330i? just a "meagerly" 100hp over my four-banger. but since there's some congestion up ahead, I figure I could catch him up and see who was driving.

I don't know if any locals LA-ers around here, but at the last part of the 105 is a long straightaway where most cars concentrated on the right lanes in order to exit to the airport, leaving the two left lanes quite empty. and it is quite a beautiful scenery too, with Raytheon company building on the left and airplanes landing your right. There's where I caught up to him, hahah... hi-beaming time!

i swear, there was a split second between me seeing my hibeam reflection from his quad-tip steel tailpipes with the M badge and his car rocketed away. The thought of "holy sh|t, I am screwed" was somewhere in between.

yet another ricer got chewed post

btw: this happened a week before the other accident I witness on 105.

reminds me of the time I tried to hang with a 3000GT in my lincoln towncar... 17 years old at the time.

I was at a light in the right most lane with the 3000GT behind me. Before we got hung up at the light, he had been weaving in and out but never made it past me. When the light turned green, I floored it and accelerated to 90 with the pedal still to the floor.. he proceeded to change lanes and sling shot by me on the right. By the time I hit 100mph, he must have had me by 100-200 yeards :(

I had no Ninja back then :(

tweakmm:

i THOUGHT it was a 330 or just a 325, i mean, you can't really tell an M3 from any 3 series (by physical apperance) other than the badge, quad exhaust (older ones don't have quads right?), bigger front bumper, and side grilles.
beside, before the light, I was right in front of him and only saw the car from headlights and up.
it was quite dark too so i didn't notice the M badge and others hints when it first passed me.

Spooner:
the light blinks from red to green in like 10 seconds. the rate is not like those on typical local road.

racing with a Lincoln Towncar? boy you got guts.... (oh wait, it got the mustang's v8, nevermind... )
well at least if you both crash, the mitsu would be decimated into dust and you can walk away in one piece.

Yep. Also the 105-405 interchange has a 3-car-per-light signal too. It really screws some people up. Amazing how few people can count these days.

That exact connection from 105 to 405 south, bunch of morons do not know how to count. 3 cars per light and I just don't get the people that cant count. btw, the right entrance lane is always faster for some reason, just fyi :)

Yep, mostly because lots of people get off at the El Segundo exit right beforehand.

Next time remember that your car is just a mode of transportation and not an extension of your penis.
