I was disappointed with versions 4, 5, and 6 of the Opera web browser...

but the beta version of Opera 7 (except for a few kinks) rocks.

And what happened to the advertisement banners? They are nowhere to be found, even though I have not upgraded my Opera 5 & 6 subscription.

Crashes a lot on my pc. Especially if I click on a link in an email and it opens Opera. Instant poofter.

I liked 6 the best. 7.02 beta doesn't seem to be compatible with windows themes? Specifically themes using the "hacked" uxtheme.dll :(

I hated version 6 so much that uninstalled Opera from my HDD.

I like it ok but it doesn't like to print on my printer or work with a numbe of websites. Specifically one I need for work. Which really sucks as it is a lot faster than IE is on my machine.

Why do people use Opera? I just downloaded it and already came across two sites that don't work. One of them was a drop down menu that is compatible with Netscape 3.0, IE, and Mozilla ..

Opera = good pr0n browser since u can minimize all ur windows or close them in one click, plus popups dont get outa hand....btw, u didnt hear that from me.

I like Opera's interface, but its CSS and DOM implementation still leaves a bit to be desired, even in version 7. It's improving though, previous versions were pretty awful in that area. I like Mozilla better as an alternative browser to IE.

I'm not too big on the Opera 7 interface...I prefer the 6.x series myself. Just seems to be much more organized and looks the way (I think) a browser should look. The ad banners are annoying, but I qualify for their Global Donations Program so I get free licenses to their browsers :D Can't beat the popup killer and the Google toolbar right in the address bar, plus their email client can't be beat.

I use Opera 6.05 (and previous versions) and love it. I have 7.0 installed but do not enjoy it as much; just bothers me in some ways.

Every so often I run across some sites where I have to rely on IE, but not too many. And, I bet in most cases, it isn't much of an Opera problem, but people used poor HTML skills.

I just love how you can have the windows organized, how the bookmarks and mail are figured out. Easier to customize things.

This is why I like Opera:

Tabbed browsing, personal CSS application to ANY page, full and decent cookie management, pop-up window management, in page zoom, an adequate help system, a Save as feature that actually works, a find feature that allows subsequent searches without the damn find box up, built-in customizable web searching, skinning, abundant keyboard shortcuts and user-defined mappable key commands, better bookmark system, download management with auto-resume, ability to toggle on/off multiple settings like "enable java" with a keypress and a click, ability to resume your browsing exactly where you left off with all pages pre-loaded and ready to go, very fast page rendering.

Agreed. I used Opera, way back before Mozilla came out, for normal surfing, and I loved it. Popups were super controllable in Opera, as opppsed to the giant mess they were in IE. Now I used Mozilla for my everyday surfing.
