I was channel surfing and saw this guy with no legs

He was crawling a marathon with his arms, lifting himself up and swinging to move. I don't get this.
He had a whole crew helping him along and took 172 hours. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of running the marathon?
I just don't get it. If I had no legs, I wouldn't want to be the center of attention making a crowd feel sorry for "that poor legless guy". Seems disgraceful.

I don't think you are supposed to feel sorry for the guy. You should feel at awe that he is able to do it.

I would be in awe if he was in shape (he was fat), and did it within a day in a wheelchair.

Definitley incredibly impressive, but...WHEELS are perfectly suited to long distance travel. (I know, evil)

He may have no legs, but he's got a giant pair of brass balls... I wouldn't want to attempt that, so that guy is a seriously dedicated person. to him!

He has to or else walking like that would hurt!
