I was bored so I made a graph on Athlon XP price vs. performance..

As you can see, each 100 increase in XP value adds performance by 5% and 66 2/3MHz in frequency. Looks like XP1700+ is the sweet spot. XP2000+ is insane.

I bought my AXP 1900+ the first day it came out for $265. Sure, it's cheaper now ... but it's also not the fastest now. At least for a couple of months or so, I got to enjoy owning the fastest processor you can buy. Sounds silly, but I was tired of always settling for second or third best. I finally got to have the fastest one for a change. Maybe someday I can do it again.

I understand tslaughtry....I bought my first 66..the fastest was a 100...

I have been one step (more like several steps) behind ever since....not really complaining..but I guess to satisfy my ego I would love to say I bought the fastest computer available for once, but I will never say that because I will never do it
