One theory - one parent is a Christian and one is not. The Christian parent insisted on giving the child a name from the Bible. The non-Christian parent agreed, but won in the end.![]()

I was working one day, and a black lady was calling her son, who looked to be about 4 year old. She said, Jerome, get your black ass over here!!!!
At least the kid will know from an early age, that he has a black ass.

it's a name alright
you have to see a person for who they are and not entirely for what they are if you expect to train your mind to treat people with respect
i had a teacher who's last name was Mr. Dam. people would make fun of him and refer his last name to the word "damn." obviously there are other associations for the same word, like river dam or beaver dam, for example.
society just likes to take words and names and distort them. all in all, that's why racism exists and such things like hate and negative critism towards good accomplishments.
personally, I think the op has issues and can't figure out for himself that names have other cultures different than what he grew up with.

This young woman brought her child into Children's Hospital for a routine check-up. On the records, the nurse saw that the child's first name was Urine (pronounced Urin-ie). Not wanting to be rude, but wanting to know why this woman would name her child this, the nurse asked her how Urine got her name.
The woman explained, "Well, my baby was born premature and had to stay in the special nursery. She was real sick and they didn't know if she would make it. I couldn't decide what to name her, but the nurses said they would pray for her. One day I came in and the nurses had already named her. There was this paper on her incubator that said 'Please save Urine', so I knew that they had named my baby."
