I think the top spanner looks too much like a banner ad for another company. The quick links also look like ad text at first glance.

It is an original work and I can prove it :D - psd files rules

I know it is original work, but it looks like a rotating banner ad service at the top. When I first visited the page, I thought there were two separate ad blocks! That isn't a good first impression.

What web browser do you use?
The site has a static banner. I haven't sign up for any kind of a rotating banners so it is quite possible that it just doesn't look good in your browser - and I would like to know about it.
The site was tested with FF 2.0 and IE7

I think what he is trying to say is thet the top banner has the look of a banner ad. It is seperated from the rest of the page. Try blending it into the menu a little more.

Exactly. I was trying to say that nicely, but you weren't getting it.

I know that your site doesn't have ads on it, but the top banner at looks like a low-quality banner rotation ad. It is unprofessional. Further, the quick links on the lower right corner of the page look like a text ad tower. When I visited the page, I immediately wanted to leave, since I thought it was yet another tower ad page with fake content.

And yes, I do web design.

Cliffs:
1) You banner ad looks like a crap banner ad.
2) The quick links look like a text ad box.
3) Get rid of the cover-on animation.

Can you show me some of the pages in your portfolio?
Also, none of my the elements on my project is unprofessional. You may not like it, but it doesn't make it unprofessional. And, BTW your criticism will be considered when designing Amerbilt Construction 3.0

Well to him it looks unprofessional and I tend to agree. The top banner really does look like a banner ad, especially since the phone number on there is massive. They're alreayd at the website, it's ok if the phone number isn't the first thing they fixate on. And the bottom right corner DOES look like a google adsense ad.

You may be "professional" but the graphics of all your websites look really mediocre, giving your website a bargain-bin feel.

Yet another pompous ATer that can't take constructive criticism, even when asking for it.

I don't have any criticism other than what has been given. But you have some half decent skills, take the advice of the above posts and you can turn this into a decent web page.
