I know, I know.. you're all thinking, "I'm sorry.."

But, considering I have no credit, have applied to like 6 CC's so far, and they all laughed in my face.. it's a good thing. 😉

Capitol One Platinum VISA.. 300$ limit! w00t.. lol

Don't worry, I'm responsible with my money..

Now, what kinda hot deals are there going on right now? 😀

Woohoo.

Secured or unsecured?

Annual fee?

Just promise me that you will pay at least the minimum monthly payment on or before it's due date.

Go out and buy a bunch of stuff!

Congrats. Noone gave a crap that I got approved for my first car loan without a co-signer, so I'll make it a point that your accomplishment is acknowledged:

Congrats Eli!

That makes me feel better, my original credit limit was $700. I maxed it out with one purchase but I will be paying off all at once.

Unsecured.

No Annual Fee.

And of course I will! 😉 That's the whole point. I wouldn't screw it up now. I plan on using it to buy things that I normally would, and I will pay the bill in full instead of just the minimum payment.

Also remember when buying online to use your cc instead of a debit card.

I swear if anyone asks BUT WHY?, I'm gonna go retail on them.

But why?

I've used my debit card numerous times and have never had a single problem. Guess i will continue until I do have a problem.

Wonder why so many people are having problems? First year of college (3 years ago), I got a non-student Citibank Sony Card with a 1200 limit.

Heh.. 😉

I've always used my debit card too(Until now! 😉). But I think the reason being, is that it is a direct link to your bank account. Just by using it, you're increasing the chance that someone gains access to your entire bank account. Although most banks have fraud protection schemes, I think credit cards are just generally better about it.

Plus CC's have better consumer protection policies than a debit card anyway.

I'm glad I sent this app in,.. I was like.. Platinum VISA.. lol, that'll be the day. But I sent in the app anyway, and here I am.. heh

Well, there isn't a lot to do with 300$ anyway, so I'm not terribly worried. Even if I have to pay the minimum payment+ only 5$ or something, at least I'll be improving my credit score as I go.

CC companys are bastards and know freshmen college kids are irresponsible luring many to sign up with free t-shirts and gifts. Just like the tabacco companies philosphy of hookem younh. They also know you're probably in the middle class income spectrum and your parents are great sources of fallback income. By they're thinking, if you can afford to go to college you can afford to own a CC.

That's how they got me. 🙁 Not having a responsible role model as far as debt and spending goes (thanks Dad), didn't help either.
