I know I'm registered. I registered when I moved. I have my polling place, and about to head over there now.

Do I need anything other than my drivers license? Second time doing this and the last time was four years ago and I don't remember.

Naw just take your license. I just have to write my name and address down on a little card when I get there, and then the people working write down the current date I'm voting on in a big records book.

I thought there was a date (month or so beforehand) that you had to be registered by in order to vote for the primaries. Maybe someone else can give you more information.

Correct. There is a cutoff date and it's usually at least a month before the election (although I doubt it, you may still be able to register for local voting ONLY, depending on where you live). It's not too late to register for the November elections, though. If you have any questions or want to register contact your local board of elections and ask them to tell you where to register. Some states let you sign up at various state offices such as the DMV/BMV, other require that you visit the board of elections office in specific. The board of elections is often run by counties, not cities, if that helps.

Registering makes you eligible for jury duty; if you are male and are registering to vote, you must sign up for the selective service, too (if you haven't already). (Crock of shit.)

Correct, as an Independent you can vote but you have to chose one or the other ballot.

Depends on the state. In california you can vote for dems but not republicans in the primary as an independent.

In NY, you can not vote for either party as an Independent.
