I have a ti200 with an S-vid TV out and I was wondering if there was a way to convert it into a VGA hookup to attack a second monitor on that connection. I have a 17", but am planning on getting a Samsung 19 inch soon, and I would like to be able to use my old monitor as a second display. Any idea what kind on adapters there are for this and where I could get them?

The TV-out disables the VGA output, so you cannot have two displays.

My parents have a Geforce2MX with Tv-out and they can do dual display with twin-view. They are using a TV for the second display, but there is an option under twin-view for a second monitor.

The GeForce 3 Ti 200 disables the primary display when using TV out. This is what he has.

well, that blows. Is that a hardware or software limitation? I am asking because I just realized that there is no twin-view on my system, which corroborates with what you said. However, I just installed the 27.42 detonator beta, and I now do have N-view on my system. If the limitation is software, maybe I could work around it using N-view.

You know, I don't know what the limitation is. I suspect that you MIGHT be able to get both outputs to display the same image, but there is no chance to get two desktops. Maybe someone else knows the truth.

but you could get 2 desktops with twinview. there were actually 3 different settings. Anyway, if the software is the limiter, than maybe N-view will allow it.

even the Geforce2 MX's? I don't think they would have included that on such a low-end card.
