I want to upgrade..

I've been behind the times in the latest gear so bear with me. Right now I have a AMD T-Bird 1GHz, 512 Ram,, GF3 etc etc. It only runs at 800 now for some reason, I have it set at 1GHz but I don't feel like messing with it, see how lazy I am. (It's a A7V BTW, I had it running at 1.4 b4). Anyways, I don't need a GF4, since not even alot of games use the GF3. So I just want to upgrade processor/mobo wise. I heard the P4s are actually decent now? Or should I just a Athlon XP? I want to do this upgrade in about a month.

Either route you go you will need to upgrade your memory to DDR or RDRAM. Intel plans to do price cuts real soon, AMD will follow as usual.

P4's are great of o/c especially the 1.6A, P4 with an 'A' at the end of it will have 512k L2 cache, except the 2.4 which still has 512k. I would go with P4 if you plan to o/c.

Yea I know about how I have to upgrade ram, so thats a given. I don't think i'll be OCing. I haven't had the urge to tweak out my computer in a while. I just want to get my computer ready for Morrowind and some other games ^_^. Would this price cut be in a month?
