What video card do you have now?

It shows you already have a 6600gt in your sig?

No, 6600gt's in SLI is a waste. Based on the games you play, get a 7800GT and enjoy.

A evga 7800GT cost 289 at newegg alone...add the 81 from another gig of ram and 50 for a new heatsink the total will be 420.Do I really need another gig of ram?

No, it is helpful for some games (BF2), but going from a 6600GT to a 7800GT will be like going from a Dodge Neon to a Dodge Viper.

You can always add more memory later.

Also, you can get the Zalman for much cheaper than $50.00

So what i'm getting out of this is...just to buy the GT for now cuz the zalman and the ram wont do anything of significance compared to the 7800GT?That sounds good...I mainly play cod2 and I want to play on DX9 with decent framerates.

You will get a HUGE differance going from the 6600GT to 7800GT..I was using a 6600GT prior to upgrading to my 7800GT.

There's a video tab at the top of your screen.

EDIT: sorry, I'm a jerk.

You should be able to turn the settings up considerably with an upgrade like this.

Is 1280x1024 your max res?
