I want to upgrade my mobo I have a gateway g6 400 what would you smart people recomend?

i dont want to spend more then $250 w/ prosseser.How fast can I go?
this is my current motherboard that cannot be overclocked or should i just wait and buy a whole new system or just get an x-box when it comes out?
