I want to upgrade my Abit NF7-S v1.2 to something else, any suggestions?

I am going to quit using my NF7-S and give it to a family member because they need it. I want another AMD motherboard that is rock solid stable and has a decent price ($125 or less). I don't care about serial ports (won't use a serial HD anytime soon). I want onboard lan and onboard sound again. I will overlock it some but not as intensely as the NF7-S. What would be a good upgrade to fit this mold? Should I be waiting for a new motheboard like the NForc2 Ultra boards or something else?

EPoX 8RDA+ will suit you. It's solid, powerful and overclockable.. along with onboard LAN and nVidia Soundstorm ;)

I was thinking that as well. I shouldn't consider the 8RDA3+ should I? If I am not overclocking I really shouldn't care about the 400fsb correct? :)

The only difference I could really see between the 8RDA+ and the 8RDA3+ is the extra LAN connector and Serial ATA. Newer 8RDA+ (C1/A1 steppings) DOES have support for 200MHz although it's not officially advertised so.

The 8RDA+ is going for $85 shipped in Newegg, and that's one hella deal. I'd say go for it! :)

I guess I could take a chance and see if I get one of the newer a1/c1 boards. I wish newegg guaranteed versions like excaliberpc did.

I think you are almost guaranteed a C1/A1 stepping from Newegg. I got mine about 2 weeks ago.

If the Abit NF7-S does that well for you why not get another?

I have the same board and love it. I got the 2.0 one from newegg.com, it is going for $124 shipped right now.

why not get that other person a Epox 8RDA+ for $85 and you keep your Abit. my v1.1 board (an older revision than yours) is running at 10x200 right now without a hiccup. also using the SATA RAID with no problems (thanks to the rev. 19 BIOS) with my dual raptors. i am going to be happy until athlon64 =)

I could do that but getting another PC is a priority, no matter who I give it to. That will depend on how well the build goes. :)

What ram are you using yoda?
