I am buying som ECC ram for a server that I don't have physical access to. I want to test the ram before I send it to the datacenter, the only problem is that I don't have a way to test it before shipping it. Can a normal motherboard that uses non-ECC ram test ECC ram or will it just throw out errors? Can ECC be turned off for the purpose of testing?
