I want to ask why they havent closed a single large scale power station despite their leading wind turbine development status in Europe.

I know there might be tons of reasons why such as cost, exporting energy to other countries etc but i need to source it from the horses mouth rather than make stuff up. Any ideas?

Germany isn't a person, I don't think you've thought this through.

However I do have the answer so I can save you the trouble. Wind turbines are inadequate for supplying energy demands.

Ya i know how to call random people in Germany but like, who should i ask that question too? Whos likely to reply to me?

"I spoke to Klaus Hergashiemer about why they havent closed a plant and he said it was because of aliens" - Random person, not a good source of info heh

"I spoke to the German Chancellor about why they havent closed a plant and he said it was because of x y z" - German chancellor, not likely to reply to me but a better source of info than random people.

uh because alternative energy is abundant or cheap enough yet. The old plants will only close when they simply can't compete from a financial stand point.

I had a beanie baby named Germany but I never talked to him. Honestly.

I don't know... they might be adequate in a place like Switzerland (if you built enough of them in the right places, which you could there).

You're looking at this wrong. Only very specific people are going to have any clue what you're talking about.

You should be able to find the information you're looking for online.

This reminds me of a certain naive person looking to purchase a large quantity of beef online, or perhaps directly from a farmer.
Seriously though, you don't call a country to ask for their response about some random piece of information you heard about in class or online

Ya, i found this report by E.oN, it answered my question kinda. Their grid is geared towards decentralized energy and initially was poorly suited for wind due to the erratic nature of it. Theyre improving this with a better grid, higher capacity lines and grid security features in new windfarms. So it says.

Go to the library, ask for a German phone book, then ask to make a local call.

Won't be adequate until we have a distributed global super-conducting power grid. Sum wind energy is very inconsistent over such a small area.
