I've got an old AT style 200W PSU powering P200MMX at the moment.
I'm thining of turning it into a linux gateway/router for the network at home.
I want to use a minimal hardware as possible to lower power consumption and noise generated by the machine.
CPU will be cooled by cheap Vantec 62540D heatsink.
If it's good for cooling athlon, it's good enough for pentium..I hope
Harddrive will be taken out and the OS will be loaded in a floppy..
So..
The only thing remaining to make noise is.. the fan on PSU.
I relly really really want to take it out. But i'm afraid it might overheat and blow up (and take everything else with it)..
Do you think I canremove the fan with no problem?

If you remove all the fans from your system (except the CPU), then you'll be asking for trouble. However, since you wont be putting much load on this 200W PS, it might be a feasible idea. I guess you gotta just try it and monitor the temps of the PS during operation. I agree with AMDskip, just use a really quiet 80mm fan, such as the Panaflo L1 (hey, you can even try cutting it down to 7V).

You should be alright with the config that you gave...

A low wattage PSU should be alright with no fan, underclock the CPU so
that it will run cool with just a heatsink, then toss in the floppy with
something like this and you're set to go.
