I want to take notes, but have them encrypted, and synchronized cross platform

Anyone have any suggestions.

I'd like to be able to basically have text files of various notes I take, but be able to access them on windows/linux/android, and have them synchronized so I can add to them from any device, but also securely encrypted and password protected. Any Ideas?

I was thinking put txt files in truecrypt containers, and then putting that in a dropbox. But thats not necessarily ideal. Partly because I don't know how well truecrypt containers will work on android (supposedly there are apps that can open them). Also its a ton of steps, login to dropbox, download file, open encryption software, mount, open text editor, edit, close text editor, unmount volume, close encryption software, reupload to dropbox, logout of dropbox. Surely there must be an easier way?

I would say OneNote since it's cross-platform (minus Linux), and it's easy to use. You can password protect notes, sync to cloud (via OneDrive).

Evernote is also worth looking into.

Google Drive lets you share documents between all your devices. Edits are made online and updates are reflected on all devices. Documents are encrypted in transit and as they are stored on each device. You can also upgrade encryption if desired by using a third-party security provider such as BoxCryptor:

i love one note, but encrypted notebooks is not yet supported on all platforms. honestly, android may be the only holdout and iOS only got support for it recently.

i believe they just announced *how* business onedrive is encrypted at rest and in transit, but details on personal onedrive need clarification.
