I want to start designing web sites.Where to start?

I want to build a website, but i dont know where to start, how to precede etc.Also looking to dont spend any money with multiple programs etc.Looking for freeware.

Dreamweaver MX2004 is a good place to start. You can demo it for a few days I believe.

1) Notepad (included free with any WinOS)
2) Search for Basic HTML commands on the web.
3) Type those commands in Notepad.
4) Change the .txt file to .htm
5) Buy Domain name.
6) Upload via ftp to host.
7) Fin

First you'll need a domain (GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com) and a web host.

I recently recommended the free HTML editor Namu6 to my friend Amie who designed AmieBrownsClass.com from scratch. Not bad for a complete HTML n00b.
