I want to start an image hosting site...

While I don't have the bandwidth for places like Anandtech, I've got some space (via 1&1 hosting) that I would like to use as an image hosting service. Does anybody have any recommendations for how I should do this? I am a member of a couple of ATV forums, and I want the interface to be relatively simple so EVERYONE can use it. I also am not the best at tinkering around with code and stuff... but if I need to, I can do it. Anybody know what kind of resources are out there so i don't have to code the whole thing?

Thanks in advance...

Paul

How is it going to cost him a penny since:

1) 1and1.com offered FREE WEB HOSTING for 3 years with 500MB/5GB.
2) A domain is not required.

Total cost = 0

Here are over 200 image gallery scripts.

PabloMartinez,

Good luck using the (suck ass and slow) 1and1 control panel :)

I would recommend DAlbum which is used on membo.org (the guy who was offering 800MB free uses it).

yeah interface is a bit quirky, and the numeric logins throw me for a loop, but since its free, i can learn to work around it ;) I'll check out that DAlbum...

For multi-user photo galleries I'd recommend
The Exhibit Engine free
Gallery free
PhotoPost $129
Albinator $99

DAlbum was never built with multi-user in mind. Someday it may be more managable (I hope so) but then again maybe not. Main reason is it's not database driven so you can't do quotas, ratings, popularity, etc.
