But basically, I want to have a forum similar to this type of format......Of course, it wont be computer related, but I like the layout of this forum...or something similar...and not cost too much

1) Register a domain (if you don't already have one) with GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com

2) Sign up for web hosting, you can find plenty of offers here or tell me what your budget is and I can do the legwork for you.

3) Install free forum software IPB or phpBB

4) Get people to register for your new forums and post.

5) Pat yourself on the back.

:)

How can we possibly recommend the best solution when not knowing what your budget is?

Disirregardless, tell us:

1) What your discussion topic will be
2) How many people you expect to use your board per day
3) If you already own a domain name and/or webspace to run the board on

ok, so basically, I want to create a "hot deals" type of forums. And actually, I don't have a domain name, or webhost or any of that stuff...so I will start from the very begninning.

budget?? I don't know...maybe 15-20 per year total? Is that too little?

Good news: A Hot Deals web site can use very little bandwidth if you optimize it and use graphics sparingly. You could get your Hot Deals site to use 5GB or so per month.

Bad news: Forums use a lot of bandwidth, for $15-20/yr your only option is to go with a "kiddie host" this is a "web hosting company" run by 14 year olds who run the "biz" after school and on weekends. Assuming they haven't been grounded, well then you're screwed.

For $25/yr I would recommend HostPC.com which offers 250MB/6GB

For $60/yr I would recommend SolidInternet.com which offers 1GB/10GB.

Do you have AIM or MSN?

well, I dont plan to use lot's of graphics and pictures.....so I think it is ok............

well, I think I am able spend more....25-30 per year is not that bad......

so I guess I need to register for a domain name, get a web host, and register for a board. Is there one site that takes care of all that, or is do you guys have any reccommendation??

btw, MSN: semidevilz@hotmail.com

Is this good?

It says 700mb, w/ 35 gb traffic................. for 6.95 dollars?

Even better.

I can hook you up with the same web host which PlanetHzl.com uses for $50/yr (500MB disk space and 20GB per month bandwidth).

It also comes with auto installer scripts so you can auto install everything with a few clicks of your mouse, making it VERY easy.

LMK if you are interested.
