I want to sleep in a new bed

I'm still in the process of redecorating my bedroom. I've recently accquired a Swedish style wooden platform bed frame (okay, IKEA). Now I'm in need of a brand new mattress, King sized for my pleasure. 😀

The cheapest place for an above average quality mattress seems to be either Costco or Sam's Club. A quick glance at their site shows that I can get just the mattress for around 450+ (I have no problem spending up to 1k). Now I don't know anything about buying a mattress, do you guys have any idea what kind of model I should get?

I prefer something that is not too firm, I like the "sinking" feeling on a soft bed.

Seems like Sam's also have free shipping.

Oh, do you guys know the difference between Cal-king and king?

Lets see the bedframe.......why? cause I love IKEA😱

You can probably get a better deal at a local mattress store. But you have to go in and haggle, dont go in and see a mattrress for $999 and say Ill take it! You can likely get that mattress for $799 if you talk to them. Maybe get free delivery and pillows added in too
😀

Of course buying at Sams etc could be much less painless for the introverted and youll pay just a little more
Sometimes convienence is worth the extra $$

The bedframe is a Hopen set, not availble on the webpage, I guess I'll have to take a picture of the bedroom later when I get home.

From Sam's Club's page, I've narrowed down to Balisier Eurotop ($748), Luminesce Pillowtop ($558) or Wisteria Pillowtop ($667). All just mattress only with free delivery. I could stop by the local mattress place and see if I could get a better price for the same one.

Just figured out that King is 76 X 80 and Cal-King is 72 X 84.

check out those things you can put on top of the mattress as well. i forget what they are called. mattress topper, feather bed, something like that.

they can add real nice softness to your mattress.

we're also about to buy a king size bed but from our local bj's wholesale club. the prices are really, really good.

Pillow-top. I didn't care for it since it was like sleeping on a marshmallow but YMMV.

We just bought a Sealy Posturpedic and it's freaking brilliant. Worth every penny.

I'm interesting in BJ's do they have a website? I guess I should serch for it myself.

Is the membership comparable with Sam's and Costco?

Yep. Not uber firm, but firm. We had a futon for years, so I can't stand mushy mattresses.

bj's wholesale club

the membership is comparable i believe, but i haven't checked the prices in a while to be honest.

i actually prefer costco for available merchandise but there wasn't one near where we used to live and bj's was the only choice.

we now live near a costco but we won't join until the current bj's membership expires.

yeah i slept on a futon for many years as well. it has trained me to be able to sleep on parquet floors now(and being drunk helps too).

unfortunately, i sleep on my back when i sleep on firmer surfaces and that means i end up snoring which keeps the woman awake. so to prevent that i have to sleep on my side, and to sleep on my side i prefer the heavenly softness.
