I want to "simulate a GUI" - is Flash my best bet?

I need something to allow me to develop a very rich graphical interface just for the purpose of experimenting/evaluating it and making changes here and there to improve usability - thus I need to be able to change things really quickly and easily and try out the interface again.

Flash is the first thing that comes to mind. are there any other apps that would fit the bill?

Flash sounds good to me if you know how to work that stuff.

A GUI sounds pretty easy to make on Flash too.

Heck, HTML/Webpages might work too.

ok, I just thought maybe there's some app I haven't heard of that's specifically designed for experimenting with gui designs (in other words "interactive mockups")

Sun has already done this with Java.

Check out Multimedia Fusion. A more high-level type of program, but VERY easy to get into. There's a demo out there to play with that has a nice tutorial.

I would recommend Flash over Java if that's what you're going for... I have yet to find a nice Java IDE, one that's easy for beginners.
