So I have a new car (Im not talking about the mazda 3. im talking about my Hyundai Tiburon SE V6), and I havnt gotten to test it any further than 80mph so far :( I cant afford a ticket , or higher insurance, and ive been clean for 5 years :p

heck, I have a 1yr old mazda 3 that i havnt even pushed past 85:(

I want to see how close to the top speed (160mph) this car can get.

Am I the devil?

no you are not stupid, just wait to about 4-5AM and go onto a highway and VROOM VROOM!!

or if you know a highway that doesnt have many people (and police) go for it.

you won't even get that fast - top speed is limited to 118 mph(electronically limited)- (just because the speedo shows 160mph, it doens't mean you can go that fast).

Track it on a weekend where there are no races. Around here, you get unlimited runs for 50 bucks on the off weekends.

Hey now, going down at, let's say a 85 degree angle, I am sure he could pull off 160. Even if just for a few seconds.

Shoot, My mom is 70. She just got a new Oldsmobile Alero and took it to about 95 trying to see how fast her new sporty car went.... She freaked out at 95 and slowed back down but if she can do it..... just be smart!

I don't know about the rest of the US but outside Columbia, SC they've posted 80mph on a freeway with a recommended minimum of 65.

Eh, even at a track he won't be able to top out before he has to brake at the next turn.

Just make a few changes and reflash the EEPROM. No more limiter. ;)
