Ok... here is my basic setup:

Athlon AMD 64 3000+
1Gb DDR 400
Microstart K8T Neo Fsr (Motherboard)
Geforce 6800 GT
RAID 0: 7200rpm SATA drives.

 
Use the search function in the section. Type in "3000" in the search field, and check out some of the post. Its gaurenteed someone here has written about overclocking that same processor you have. Good luck.
 
Yea, I would have to ask why too, that system gives out some pretty good power and should be enough to run your programs
 
Here's what you do. Go into the BIOS. Set your FSB to 245, set your memory frequency to 166, set your HT multiplier to 3X, set your CPU voltage to 1.55, Save and Exit.

Your Cpu will now overclock to 2.45 Ghz and your memory will run at 407 Mhz. Good luck.
 
use prime 95 and see if the CPU is stable, use memtest86+ for the memory, and use 3dmark03 for the graphics card. If they all run well, than your good to go.
