I live in the city north of Seattle... Nice place... Mostly depending on where you live...
If you are an urban type person, maybe commuting to Seattle...
Preferably, if you plan on living in Seattle, live in an apartment in the city or possibly the northern part of Seattle... Since I live in the city next to Seattle, the school district is independent from the Seattle school district. So if your children plan on attending a Seattle school, you have 4 high schools to choose from... in the Shoreline school district, or my district, there is just 1 high school and middle school, depending on which side of the freeway you live on.
For rain... Rain hits from around September to May (or June)... Occasional cloudy and rain in summer too... What sucks more is that most houses here aren't equipped with friggin A/C.... So you'd be burning in the summer.
Ethnicity wise, very good... Starbucks is like a must here for some reason...
As for attractions... Hmm... your on your own... We all know that here lol... Yearly fairs such as the Bite of Seattle occurs at Seattle Center... But... our only amusement park is "Enchanted Village Wilds Waves," which isn't up to par with the other amusement parks like Disneyland...
Paintball parks are nice... but far away... and it rarely snows and sticks... Since our weather is mild... Except if it does, its either in December or in spring. Yet when it does, it lasts for only a few hours to a few days, nothing major. Nice bike trails near Lake Washington... Green Lake is a nice place to run or bike ride. Yeap... Just don't expect really nice sandy beaches like California... Richmond beach near mine... Seaweed and geoducks and such... So its not really a nice sandy beach like the ones you find on Santa Monica...
Oh yeah, Uwajimaya is a tourist attraction even though its a japanese shop lol... Same with Pike Place Market and possibly Gameworks. Then there is Mt Baker, Mt Rainier, and some other places... Leavenworth is a bavarian attraction, although its WAY FAR AWAY OMFG... 4 hour drive. Woo.
