I want to learn Windows and Linux networking without taking classes. How?

I need to learn how to install and manage Windows server 2000 & 2003 and linux based systems (secundary). The linux interest me as an aid to a windows based network, using the linux system as a firewall & router, for example, or some other use.

How do you guys recommend I can learn this via information or guidines free on the net or by reading books? I can't take classes now because I have very little time for that.

Books, and personal Labs. VMWare Server is free as is Virtual PC. And get a job in the industry. Regardless of how much you learn in books or a lab you cannot replace experience and if you plan on getting into systems/server administration, then a nice interview's worth of questions wont' go nearly as far if you have nothing on your resume to back it up.
