Have you ever had to turn your windshield wipers up to the top speed... and it's still not enough?!

HOLY SHlT! Our last road trip took us through remnants of hurricane Dennis coming & going. Last night we suffered the worst downpour I've EVER seen. Came this close to pulling over, but we were on the freeway, and that seems more dangerous than plodding on, and there were no exits nearby. Probably lasted only a few minutes, but it seemed like an eternity! Whew... :Q

Yeah, I've been there before.
It started hailing after a few minutes as well, which was... interesting...

35mph on a 70mph road because no-one can see where they're going.

Believe me, the fvckin' radio got switched right off! Hands at 10:00 & 2:00 with a death grip. All eyes peering out the windshield, looking for reference points, like tail lights and painted lines. Every underpass had a car or two stopped under it. That seems REALLY dangerous to me!

On the 7th we drove down to VA from VT, through NY and PA, then WV/MD. In PA we hit some sort of a storm, about 45 minutes of solid dense fog and torrential rain, to the point when truckers were pulling over with their hazards on because even they couldn't go through it. A few of us stuck together in a group and kept up at around 70mph though, probably not that smart but we came out perfectly fine.

If I had seen a truck pulled over, I'd have pulled over just ahead of him, but they kept rolling. I'd like to know their secret.

I was on I-10 once in Louisiana and I hit a storm like that. Prior to leaving for my trip, I had Rain-Xed my windows - and I was glad I did so. I was one of the few who DIDN"T have to pull over.
