I want to install windows 98 on top of windows 98

To replace the system files so I can install deep freeze. I have the windows 98 cd here but when I try to install it I get an error telling me that I need windows upgrade cd to continue. Can I change something so I do not get this error?

Boot from CD then install over top of you OS. You will need to reinstall all drivers & may be the softwares.

Well if I do that I should back up the regestry cause I am doing this to a work computer and if I install over top and some programs dont work I dont have the cd's here to reinstall them. I guess I will just tell my boos the system needs to be formatted.

I believe you can copy the cab files over to work around that.

Why don't you just run System File Checker?
It should do what you need.
