I want to increase my upper-body strength but don't have weights to train with... What should I do?

Besides the regular push-ups and such, what exercises can I perform that will increase my upper-body strength? I don't have weights, and I don't want to go to a gym. Help!

Thanks! :)

gallon jugs of sand

or buckets (more spillage)

lay on your back and hold arms out to side and bring jugs up and together above you - rinse repeat

that may work

Buy some - a 110lb weight set with dumbbells and a barbell runs like $30 at Oshmans or any sporting good store. (That's like 7 Big Mac value meals)

Other than that, pull-ups will develop your lats, shoulders, and arms. I honestly can't think of anything else though.

Pullups
Dips
Pushups, adjust hand position and/or wear a weighted backpack to change things up

You could probably pick up a used set of weights and a bench for cheap, think about how many people buy exercise equipment and never use it. BTW, don't forget your lower body unless you're going for the lightbulb look.

The exercise mentioned above would do well. Then do some sports, basketball, softball, kayaking or whatever taxes your body more than punching keyboard.
