After watching the frontline documentary I think I will pass. Doctor goes there and helps several hundred people see again by doing eye surgeries. The first thing the locals do when the bandages are removed is rush to the portrait of the leader on the wall and bow down and thank him for the surgery and how great it is to see his image again. The doctor doesn't even get a nod.
Be sure to check out the local library too, all the books are written by the dear leader.
They put a park bench under glass because the leader sat on it.
didnt a billion swallows erupt from the forests and darken the sun
Bwian, if you go, be sure to visit their version of Disneyland, especially their Epcot, or Entertainment Palace Composed of Tears, which features the world's biggest and best bamboo roller coaster, which they simply call Capitalism.
You leverage your worldly assets to ride. They help you aboard with an inviting but invisible hand. Everyone gets to ride, but only the top 2% seem to really enjoy it.
But the ride itself, oh my!
It consists of a breathtaking series of nearly uncontrollable ups and downs which the creators themselves insist they couldn't possibly have foreseen, and ends abruptly in a great depression located right next to a bear market, which should give you paws.

Of course they look happy. They're getting paid to look happy, because they're actors. There are some "selected ones" that get to do that. The other several million live in absolute poverty.
