Make sure you bring as many things as possible with the American flag on it. The North Koreans love America.

it's safe, a couple of companies offer tour group packages.

it's a little pricey though, I think $4k or so to visit the great leader.

I guarantee that it's safe to visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. If you're lucky, you'll be accepted into the Kim Jong-il School of Fine Poemtry.
The reports and rumors of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea being a dangerous place are all lies aimed at disgracing the good name of our Dear Leader.
Instead of being an unfriendly nation, visitors here enjoy the finest in accommodations and enjoy only the finest in regional cuisine.
The four-star hotels are beyond reproach, with excellent security, aimed at providing our visitors with not only excellent service, but also for their peace of mind.

I personally guarantee that if you go visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, you'll be perfectly safe...

and if that turns out to not be true...I'll give you back every cent you paid me for my recommendation.

weird. The Great Leader has been dead for many years.

Kim Il Sung = Dear Leader
Kim Jong Il = The General.

Whenever you hear NKers talking about how much they love and praise Dear Leader and how much Dear Leader gives them, they are actually referring to the dead Kim Il Sung.

Anyway, I'm totally fascinated by this massive country-sized cult. But I don't think I could ever go. It's certainly possible to visit, you just have to go through several channels and follow the proper rules whilst being escorted by your handlers, unless you want to end up in prison.

Unfortunately, I don't think you're ever allowed to leave Pyong Yang, lest you witness the countryside and the peasants living off of mud and the flesh of their recently deceased babies.

KJI is refered to as the dear leader. KIS is the great leader and eternal president

If you do not fit into a single seat on the airplane, please purchase as many tickets as necessary to accomodate yourself as to not inconvenience those around you.
Thanks,

After watching the frontline documentary I think I will pass. Doctor goes there and helps several hundred people see again by doing eye surgeries. The first thing the locals do when the bandages are removed is rush to the portrait of the leader on the wall and bow down and thank him for the surgery and how great it is to see his image again. The doctor doesn't even get a nod.

Be sure to check out the local library too, all the books are written by the dear leader.

They put a park bench under glass because the leader sat on it.

the government conspiracy nuts will keep telling you that North Korea is a dangerous place. It's actually quite nice during this time of year.

I went for a weekend with the wife while teaching English in Korea. We went to Mt. Kumgang, some random-assed mountain that's culturally significant. It's essentially a guided tour cordoned-off zone run by South Koreans. As long as you stay in the zone you're cool; there are outposts every 50 feet or so stationed by NK Soldiers with AK-47s and dude marching around.

Kinda boring, it's like a mountain trip in an army base. Of course, a month after we go (and come back) a lady got shot for running around outsize the zone. And when you see pictures of the great idiot twins, try to take a picture for great lulz; well, assuming you're not pissing on it or whatever, there's usually a N. Korean who sprints over and takes photos for you, so that the "dear leader's" heads aren't cut off in the shot (it's disrespectful or whatever; ridiculous).

Did you know; when Kim Il Sung was born, seasons spontaneously changed from winter to spring and rainbows appeared all over.

didnt a billion swallows erupt from the forests and darken the sun
