I'm trying to get bigger and while I can master the "gym" routine just fine, I can never seem to get enough calories/protein/etc.

Sure, I can eat Subway and Burger King all week to get tons of calories, but it's not all that healthy and it's a pain.

I can cook some simple things that end up tasting pretty bland, but I don't really know what I'm doing.

Sometimes I try recipes randomly but I have no "feel" for it, so it takes me HOURS because I have to read every single friggen line in the directions and make sure I have all the ingredients, etc.

If I did that every night, I'd spend the rest of my free time cooking until I died, basically.

1hr = read ingredients, actually FIND them in the grocery store, buy them, get back
1hr = cook, eat
30 min = cleanup

...sh!t, my night is gone...

On the one hand, I don't need anything "fancy" but on the other hand, I do want to learn to actually COOK and not just "oh trying throwing these things together, tastes great."

One tip is to making meals that will feed 4-6 and refrigerate/freeze the leftovers. Same amount of time to cook the meal, but you only have to do it once instead of 4 times.

fck following recipes

learn about some techniques, do a few typical dishes, then you can learn to adapt / improvise

start off with this book
http://www.amazon.com/Im-Just-...&qid=1204778670&sr=8-1

fxcuisine.com is extremely easy to follow

after a while, you'll find that 500 recipes are really a slight variation on 5 recipes, and that you can substitute here and there

i bought this book... never even opened it. if you want to buy it from me you can
http://www.amazon.com/How-Cook...&qid=1204778799&sr=8-1

first thing you have to learn is how to cook pasta. Once you get the hang of that, you learn how to cut stuff.

Boneless chicken breasts. Buy them in big packs and cook them however you want.
Thoes ziplop steam bags work great if you're a complete retard in the kitchen.

I agree, add some spices to them as well, look online and read up on what goes good with chicken.

I'm in the same boat. I don't even know what chicken and beef looks like raw.

I don't know how you get this far in life without seeing raw meat.

Have you never seen someone cook? Never ever go to the grocery store?
