did the online degree help your employment?

Sort of: I was working long-term temp at a place that required all programmers to have BSCS or better degrees. My division boss said it was okay to be "working" towards a BSCS, and suggested signing up for Regents College - a bunch of other people working there had done the same thing. Just signing up was good enough for the job, no progress had to be made!

I checked out the requirements and since I already had one degree (in Music), and I had a bunch of certifications, there really wasn't much I needed to do - and I completed the requirements by taking the GRE CS exam, a couple of Math AP exams, and one or two other things. So it was really easy, I went ahead and got the degree.

NO ONE has ever mentioned it one way or another for empolyment, except to note that I have a BSCS. But the degree is just one line on the bottom of a fairly long resume. I suppose if it were from MIT or somewhere, it would make more of a difference.

Please check out degreeinfo.com. There is a lot of info on accreditation, other people's experiences, and info on what schools are a waste of time.

Good luck.

I am in almost the same position as the original poster, except that I am few years younger.

One of the names that stuck out at me in the list was Florida State University.

Does anyone else see a name in there that could possibly be a good thing to have on my resume?
