I want to buy a new video card today in Orange County.

What shoud I buy and where should I get it? I was thinking about getting the 9500 pro. I can spend about 200.00 but I would rather spend less. Any help would be greatly appreciated. FYI> I have a Dell 1800fp so I need Dvi output and would love to have dual output. If anyone has a used card they want to sell me and they are in OC, CA bring on the offer.

Thanks,

Well I don't know about OC, California but the 9500 Pro is a good choice. You may want to look into a 9700 if the prices there allow it

$200 eh, well try fry's. or else microcenter. Those places are probably gonna be the best deals out the door if your looking to buy today. And for that price, the 9500 pro is gonna be the best deal for performance and in the long run since it's direct x 9 compatible. Definately try frys' for the 9500 pro. If not, maybe you can find some coupons for best buy or something.

my gf agreed to buy me a 9500pro on thursday. searched the net and found a Sapphire OEM version going for $167. with tax and $5 will call charge, total came to $185. card comes with all cables, adapters, drivers and copy of powerdvd xp. the pcb was black with original ati type hs/f. it installed with no problems at all and running rock solid with the 3.2 catalyst drivers (cd comes with older version 2.x or something). the retailer is DLJ or DJL (cant remember which) and is locted in Fullerton out by the university. just do a search on pricewatch for 9500pro and it should come up. again this a OEM version but you can call and ask them if they carry the retail version. just a note, PC Club has some retail versions in stock for $189 i believe (according to their website) but best to call and check first. best buy and compusa has it for $220 with $20 MIR. i think the only difference in retail and oem is that you get a box with the retail version (no games).

and if you havent decided to get the 9500pro yet, i highly recommend it if you're in the sub $200 price range. this card friggin rocks at 4x AA and 16X performance AF. i have about 20 gigs worth of games of all sorts and they all run perfect with no lag or artifacting.

I bought the Radeon Pro at BB and the manager gave me 10% off even though the coupon did not qualify so I go the discount + the 20.00 rebate. The only problem is that I also like the GF 4 4600 with dual DVI. I have one LCD and might get another one later on. What would you guys do? Would you stick with the Radeon? They are both the same price. I can always run the other LCd off analog. Please help.
