actually i am looking for some advices... that machine doesnt' have to be very powerful..
there are some 1.5kg notebook and some 2.24kg notebook both has its advantage and bad.

1.5kg are slim and light weight but slow
2.24kg are huge and heavy but fast.

I will bring this notebook all the time, so should i choose a slim one or heavy one. don't forget, i don't use this notebook for work..(just some word processing or excel, no autocad 3dmax stuffs) most of the time i use this notebook is for leisure.

Compaq Persario(sp?) 1.5Ghz, 512mb ram, Radeon 9700 2.2kg

anyone has any particular models for advice?

2.25kg is about 5lbs right (isn't it like 2.2lbs per kg?). Anyway, check out an apple 12" iBook if you're open to using mac OSX (which IMHO is quite a bit nicer than windows). They are light, have good battery life, and are pretty thin. If you want to spend a bit more the powerbook line is very thin and fairly light (though their all metal construction makes them a bit heavy for their small size).

I love my new IBM T42. It's slim and light but still has a 14.1" screen that does 1400x1050 with a 64MB 9600 card. I haven't tried any gaming on it yet but I would think it would be fair considering it's a notebook. I wonder if I could load HL2 on it? I have it through Steam. Would that be a violation?
