2. good depth of field ability (to take shots with only the subject in focus and the background blurred)
3. long zoom (>3x)
4. resonably responsive (UI navigation and cycle times)
everything else is secondary; I don't care much about size/weight or number of megapixels or fancy features like movie mode and whatever.
