I want to become a true geek, but so far I am missing something.

If you knew me personally a few months ago, you wouldn't consider me a geek or anything like that. The only evidence of geekdom is that I work with computers. That's it.

I don't read comic books.
I don't watch sci-fi shows.
I don't read geek books.
I do socialize with friends.
I work out 3x a week.
I don't carry pens in my front shirt pocket.

I want to change that. I want to become a true geek since I think that's who I really am. What can I do to achieve such goal?

I think you are missing the point of being a l33t geek.

To be a l33t geek you have to be:
Smart
Hardworking
Stealth studying habits
Athletic
Do things considered "geeky" ie. play games, surf anandtech, etc :p

Be smart but don't make it seem like all you do is study. Let your athleticism hide all your geek traits. As long as you are active, nobody will talk shit about your geeky habits :)

On a side note; here's what a fail geek looks like:
Huge gaming/computer nerd
Dumb as f-ck (of course, they think they are the shit when it comes to tech stuff)
Complains that homework is overrated and gets 60s on exams

find something geek-related and become a fanatical expert at that. For example, expert at ballroom dancing = not geek. Expert at the physics of ballroom dancing = geek.

I think you need to watch the entire star trek saga all 4 or 5 different sagas that have been on TV.

Oh yeah: I think quantum physics will be it. I love that stuff.

Things don't exist until they are observed. Or more specifically, things exist in all possible states until you collapse them into one state by observing them.

Now THAT's geeky.

Playing games is fine, unless that's all you do. A geek who can't cut it in the classroom is not what you want to be.

I once tried to label myself a "gaming nerd". I've always loved the GTA series on the PC. I've played all of them on my PC since GTA2, but it takes me ages to finish them, since I play for about 3 'ours a week. I don't play any other games. That means I'm not a true gaming nerd.

Excellent. I love Michio Kaku. Actually, when I said I don't read geek books, I was wrong. I love reading Kaku's books.

If you think about it, the word "loser" doesn't really mean anything. People use it to describe someone who does something which most people don't do. Basically, whoever doesn't fit the stereotype is a "loser".
