Donald Trump - H You get paid tons of money, get laid by many beautiful women, and earn a lifelong reputation that should keep you gainfully employed for life.

Worst case scenario- He fires you on live TV in front of millions of people.

Pros - Lots of women still want to sleep with you
You keep the money you made
you're still really marketable

Cons - You get embarassed

Darth Sidious - You get really cool powers that you can control peoples minds kill people you don't like, and likely get to screw many beautiful women from all over the galaxy

Worst case scenario - He finds someone better and kills you

Pros: you're dead

See the difference between you and I, is that I'm pretty sure that no matter how powerful I get, Darth Sidious would kick my ass, and I'm pretty sure that if I ever even came within 1 light year of being as powerful, he'd pretty much kill me, stuff me, and hang me on his wall.

In short

Underestimate the power of the dark side you do.

Furthermore, even if you did manage to win control of the galaxy, you'd instantly inherit ontold trillions of people all of whom wish you horrible death and destruction. As Donald Trumps apprentice the pool of people wishing your death is much smaller.

Finally sex with untold hundreds of georgous possibly bi-sexual women > light saber and the constant threat of death.

If Mace Windu can kick Darth Sidious' arse, I'm sure you could get to the point of doing it.

And it wouldn't just be hundreds of gorgeous, possibly bi-sexual women for a Sith. It'd be thousands. Remember, you can control people who are weak of mind.

As for the whole trillions of enemies, I could probably manage.
