Should I head to Silicon Valley, or what other places would you recommend for software developers?

This thread is for talking about good places for software developers to work.

Umm...software companies?

You haven't posted anything about what projects you've done, your skillsets, your education, your experience, or even what languages you know and you think that we can tell you where to go work?

Not to come off like a dick, but if you want actual constructive advice, you should probably post something besides "Should i go to Silicon Valley"....

ok, I want to work for a software company and use Java. That's the language I'm most comfortable with.

Software isn't Hollywood. You don't go "somewhere", and wait tables until someone from Google sees you, and thinks you'd make a good coder. Look around for jobs, and go where the specific job takes you.

Jesus Christ, this is why ATOT gets a bad reputation. I thought this was supposed to be a decent forum for technology professionals to convene and give each other decent feedback. You make this place look like a joke.

I think that this is appropriate in this situation...

You're being difficult. You have not provided us with the information we need to troubleshoot the problem. You have not given us errors, you're vague about where the problem is, you are not answering the questions we ask. In short, you DON'T KNOW HOW TO THINK. Give back that piece of paper you think makes your intelligent, apologize, destroy your computer and go live in the woods kid.

Here's something that you might want to say:

I'm a Java developer with x years of experience
I have a degree in y, from z, and am ready to move onto something different
In the past I've worked on projects such as x and y, and would really like to get into z
I'm in x area, and am open to relocation.

Does anyone have any idea where I may want to go from here?

If you want technical advice go to a technical section.

But everyone is mocking you because you're an idiot with a rep here.

Problem is, I'm not comfortable divulging personal details about myself to random strangers on the internet, especially these strangers. Just look at the childish way they act. I am going to ask the moderators to close this thread because it has been taken over by useless spammers.
