I want to alter audio files for a FPS game?

anyone know what files I should be looking for.ive found nothing so far in the game folders...I assume its all in one big coding file or something?

help plz...

In the game you can use preset emotions to taunt the other plays like one of the preset ones goes "wooooooohoooooooo" I want to record my own and save over it...it would be pretty cool...

So by editing your local copy, you'll magically alter the other player's files?

This I gotta see.

Wrong forum, but the mods knocked your n00bness into the right one.

Hopefully you realize changing the local copy on your own machine will have no effect on what anyone else hears.

Unless the developers were complete idiots the server just sends a "play taunt #15" message to other players not the sound file itself. Their copy of taunt #15 will be the stock one.

I remember in C&C Renegade, there was a way to mod vehicle skins and the like. It involved unpacking one of the large files, changing the specific pic files then repacking it back up.

I suggest you find the fansite for this FPS game and ask there.

The files are probably packed into some sort of container file, so they aren't easy to get at...although I'm equally sure what you want to do is possible. Even if you did alter them, no one else is going to hear them besides you because as DaveSimmons points out only a moron would develop a game that sent a stock audio file over the line every time some one pressed the taunt button, that would just be a gross waste of bandwidth..

you never mentioned the game, or said whether you understood that changes would only be local to your own machine (no one else will hear changes)
