Then strap on some dynamite and go blow up a mosque because, as others said above, you are no different than the Islamic wingnuts who do the same thing!
Why do Christian extremists love taking snippets out of the bible to prop up their lame @ss points when it totally obliviates what Jesus was really trying to say?
When all reason fails quote from the bible...the original soundbite! :frown:

"Self-rightousness has to be the most common and least attractive of all human traits", sorry I can't remember who originally said that

You should.

BTW, if I see evangelicals protesting at abortion clinics, I'm going and buying multiple cartons of eggs. Don't interfere with a woman's right under the law, sh1theads.

And if they must protest, I think the cops should take away the signs they hold up that have mutilated fetuses on them. I don't think anyone wants to see that, whether they agree with them or not.

Yeah she pissed me off in the video. "It's us against them." That is her exact attitude as well. She might as well have just said, if you aren't open to abortion and gay marriage, you are against me. Yet she makes them sound like they are the only ones with the us against them attitude. In any case, that video is whacko. Bush, nor any president should ever be worshipped.

Yeah, I wouldn't think worshipping any earthly person is in line with christian beliefs.

while i don't agree with the brainwashing occuring in the video OP linked i don't see it as Al Queda comparible either.
the lady with the water bottle isn't telling them to kill innocent people in the name of their god.
If you watch the related video she does ask if they are ready to die for Jesus and why they're not on the train yet or something.

I don't think the "die for Jesus" thing is a metaphor to these people.
well "die for Jesus" is not the same as killing for him.

and i'm not condoning either scenerio.

Or she could simply be more politically savvy than Osama.

Anyways, the Hitler Youths were similar... they weren't asked if they were ready to kill, but if they were ready to die (willing to kill is easy, it's the dying part that is hard).

What about people being in an army of salvation? Like the salvation army?

And I'm a soldier in God's army. I go out and fight every day.. except the weapons of my warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God.

You also have to recognize what Jesus was saying too. He says, "If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:26,27

That is the sense of abandonment that we have to have for Him. I would go to Jesus Camp and check out what they're doing. As long as it's biblical I'm okay with it. But if it is not, then rebuking is definitely needed.

While it is very easy to make fun of people for what they're doing, you really don't quite understand what is happening there. The bible says, "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."

That is a great example of what Jesus said, in action.

I would like to quote a few lines of dialog from the Jesus Camp trailer: -

"I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag..." - A group of children.

"There are two kinds of people in this world; People who love Jesus, and people who don't." - A supporter.

"Where should we be putting our focus? I'll tell you where our enemies are putting it, they're putting it on the kids." - Pastor Beki Fisher.

"There are people in Palestine taking their kids to camps, like we take our kids to Bible camps, and they're putting hand grenades in their hands." - Pastor Beki Fisher.

"How many of you want to be those who would give up their lives for Jesus?" - Chanted to children.

"We are being trained to be God's army." - A child.

"You are the beginnings of a movement!" - Chanted to children.

"Righteous justice! Righteous justice!" - Children chanting (Allah Ackbar??)

"If the evangelicals vote, they determine the election. -- They've taken over the White House, Congress, the judiciary for a generation." - A critic.

"This is just the tip of the iceberg." - Pastor Beki Fisher.

"This means war! This means war! Are you a part of it or not?!" - Pastor Beki Fisher.

Doesn't sound anything like the Salvation Army to me. They don't preach about their "enemies" or their "war", they don't preach about giving up their lives either, and they certainly don't brainwash children like this.

I don't know about you, but it sounds to me like the leaders of these Jesus Camps are power-tripping psychopaths and a danger to children. Especially this Beki Fisher woman, who needs to learn that gluttony and sloth are sins.

Now you know how some Muslims are brainwashed into believing that suicide bombings are right.
Some?
Yeah, some. Or are you somehow under the impression that all of them are?
Because let me tell you, there's enough muslims in the world that there'd be a lot more stuff blowing up if they were all were.
Ignore CKent, he's no different to the extremists. They believe all westerners are evil, and a lot of westerners now believe all Muslims are evil. It's a perpetual cycle of prejudice and hate that won't end until a good many people are killed for no reason.
Yes, you're right. Here's a good example of the feelings of less radical Muslims. Need I mention that pillars of the muslim world; spiritual and national leaders - have said pretty much the same things?

Yes, the 500-700 in that demonstration are representative for the millions of Muslims in the UK who didn't protest, just like every single US Christian supports Jesus Camp and it's ideals

What the hell do I care, give them weapons and ship them out. They probably have terrible aim and they will meet their maker faster than you can say righteous irony.
