OP: it sounds like you are aren't particularly concerned with performance apart from running into a wall with RAM usage? In that case none of your options will be good value.
But are you sure need more RAM? 8GB is a decent amount and just changing your software/habits could help. That, and maybe a cheap SSD (or two) for Swap/Pagefile. Since you've almost outlasted DDR3 entirely, maybe you can hold out for an entirely new system later.
