btw. i just realized the new ATI cats have a "force 1080i" and "720p" mode..settings->advanced->displays->monitor->troubleshooting

but it doesn't look necessarely better in real 1080i, at least not on a monitor. Too much flicker :)

I am studying up on compression algorithms and such so hopefully one day I will be able to do much more with this...one day...

i wish my vacation videos were that quality :) Or ANY videos for that matter....even a ripped VOB right off a DVD looks cr*p in comparison :)

depends on which ones...

the mp4 ones require the nero digital codec for some people

the .ts's require media player classic or VLC

the wmv's don't require anything

I am trying this stuff out on DV video and the quality is amazing
