Pimp. I also discovered I can buy a used transit bus for as little as $20k. Anybody else tempted to buy one just so they can slowly pull up to busy bus stops then drive off.

any reason why the asking price is $790,000? Almost couple of orders magnitude more than what I would expect it to sale for the nostalgia.

That's a huge discount over the one that sold for over $4M.

This isn't even usable as some kind of a corporate promotion type thing due to being so fvcking slow, so it would be a hanger queen for a very wealthy car enthusiast such as Jay Leno.

I wasn't until you said it and now, yeah kind of. I also want to get a white crown victoria ex police car with the light still installed and just park it along the side of the road. Or drive slowly through the 'hood at night.

They never designed and made these to be mass produced. They were made specifically as a marketing platform. These would typically travel together and every one of the 12 had different displays.

GM would drag these around to county fairs, state fairs, the world fair, etc. Strictly used to market GM products but also to tweak the imagination of those who saw them for the first time. You have to remember that the first versions of these toured in 1939... So they were head turners.
