I'm going to Warped Tour 2002 down here in Miami (Aug 3) and I REALLY want to go backstage and meet the performers. Anyone know how to get backstage passes for an event like this one in particular?

you can always do the security guards a 'favor'.

unless you buy them, only other way is connections, being a HOT woman, win them, or 'favors'. good luck.

If you have a wang, your chances have automatically been decreased by 90%.

hahaha

call the radio stations and see who's promoting what. Maybe you'll win a contest.

I used to do this all the time. In fact, I had all-access for the first warped tour (96) and met all of my favorite bands.

The best thing to do nowadays is start a review website or webzine. Write some opinions about records or bands. Then try to get in contact with the booking agent or band's manager. Tell them that you want to interview the band for your website. Be persistent. Let them know you are serious (even if you aren't). With a show as big as Warped, finding a gracious manager shouldn't be too hard. Also, be prepared to do the interview (tape recorder or whatever), even if you don't really plan on doing it.

This is how I wound up meeting NOFX, Pennywise, deftones, among many other bands.

Usually they are available from:
1) The band
2) The band's management
3) The record company
4) Promotional sources (radio, media)

I used to get them by calling the band's management company, making up some story about writing a local fan newsletter about the band, and I was usually in! Artist management types usually dig this kind of enthusiasm.
