I'm looking at one of the convertible ones that's like a regular notebook with the screen that swings around and folds down. My primary concerns are battery life, size and weight, and cost. I'm not too concerned about performance, but I would like a centrino based machine (Pentium-M and wifi).

Any suggestions for machines currently out or coming out this summer?

i'd take a look at Go-L's upcoming tablet. http://www.go-l.com

I have a toshiba...and honestly, I hate the thing. Granted, it's the older 3505, but it's terribly unreliable. Proceed with caution.

Toshiba M200

12.1 screen w/ 1400x1050 resolution, NVIDIA® GeForce? FX Go5200 - DOPE! I was seriously debating between this machine and my T41.

I have found Acer's C series to be nice units. Only a 10" LCD, but that makes them light and easy to hold when using them in tablet mode.

I believe the Electrovaya rules in terms of battery life. I have a Toshiba M200 and the high-resolution screen is very nice. The worst I can say about it is that the way the pen is stored isn't too well designed. Although I love the Tablet PC, if you aren't going to use the tablet-specific features, it's a lot of extra money to spend on a laptop.
