Firstly, where can I get up to the minute stock updates? All the online ones such as money.cnn or yahoo finance have 20 minutes delays. If I am day-trading, this cannot work.

Secondly, do you know if they sell these things anywhere? I can't find them. I want a scrolling marque setup with stocks that I can put into it that are in my portfolio. I could see a nice board costing a lot of moola, so this is what deters me. I want to do this cheaply if possible. Any suggestions?
Oh, and Im a college student, so I don't really have the spare time to make one.

Thanks!

So you don't like the free ones, don't have time to make one and don't want to pay for a nice one?

Could sign up for reuters or bloomberg, run that on a PC and output it to a LED board serially using the LED control software. Any of them have ethernet ports, you could control it with that.

Day trading requires 25K minimum in your account, why are you going to be day trading on 20 minute delays? If you cant afford to purchase the subscription to up to the second quotes how are you planning on day trading effectively? I think you need to reevaluate your situation.

Ameritrade has real time quotes and no fees(well as long as u don't trade that is...)

I wonder why you want to go cheap and day trade at the same time, it doesn't make sense.

Real-time quotes typically have a cost to them, or are part of a trading platform like Etrade, TD, scottrade etc. Most of those services won't allow you to export the data for public display on a flat screen or LED ticker board for exchange compliance.

Professional trading floors usually have data from companies like Bloomberg or Reuters that they tap into using a tool like C-scape
