How are Sparkles for noise? I have seen many here speak of their quality but are they quite?

Yes, this will be for a 1.2GHz Athlon system. My current 250W Antec will not make it. I am surprised that the Antec 300W supply is not on the AMD approved list. Is this because the Antec 303 does not have the current rating or just missed by AMD?

Check out QuietPC.

Expensive, but if you're serious about noise reduction/elimination they're the only way to go.

Other quiet PC ramblings:

For a HS/Fan: Taisol CGK760 + one of these. Gotta love 16.1 decibels.

Case fans: Go to HeatsinkFactory.com, look under 80 mm fans for the Panaflo low output. 24 cfm, 21 dba.

I've modified two power supplies thus far with low output 80 mm fans, & they work great.

The system I'm working on right now for my g/f is using one of the Panaflo's in the P/S, & the Adda on a Taisol HS. The loudest noise in the system (by far) is the IBM 60 GXP, which will soon be encased in a SilentDrive.

"Enermax EG465P-VE (FC Series, 431 watts"

I also got this one running a 1.33Ghz T-bird @ 1.5Ghz. Highly reccomended, very quiet and has two cooling fans(intake and exaust). I Purchased at Case etc

Another fan recommendation that I have done personally to power supplies is this-
pcpower and cooling silencer fan
This is the fan they use in their own silencer power supplies.
28cfm at only 20dba.
And they're only $9

This will save you some money because you can get a high quality power supply and just replace the fan for reduced noise. (Without paying for the Enermax name)
